🥣 Ingredients

  • 500 grams of phyllo dough
  • 250 grams of butter
  • 300 grams of crushed walnuts
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 2 cups of water
  • A few drops of lemon juice

👩‍🍳 Preparation Steps

  1. Prepare the Syrup:
    Boil sugar and water. After boiling, add lemon juice and boil for another 10 minutes. Let it cool.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    Grease the tray. Layer half of the phyllo sheets in the tray, brushing butter between each layer.
  3. Add the Filling:
    Evenly sprinkle the crushed walnuts over the layered dough.
  4. Add the Remaining Dough:
    Add the remaining sheets the same way, buttering each layer.
  5. Slice and Bake:
    Slice the baklava. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) until golden brown.
  6. Pour the Syrup:
    Pour the cooled syrup over the hot baklava right after it comes out of the oven. Let it rest to absorb the syrup.
